The 2003 Spring Bush Series: Faculty Interactions and Open Discussions

  • Registration will be on-line and limited to 15 people. Meetings will be held at the TLC.
  • There will be four themes; each one will be scheduled for one week out of the four weeks of the month.
  • Each theme will cover up to four topics, one for every month of the Spring semester, January through April. January and March will have only three weeks.
  • Discussions will be limited to one hour long on Wednesdays from 3:00-4:00 PM (refreshments served).

Theme 1: The Lead Forward Land Grant University Plan through Excellence
Discussions will include members of the President’s different task forces to share recommendations and university best practices with the other participants.

February 5, 2003: Best Practices in Academic Advising

April 2, 2003: Best Practices in Student Retention
 


Theme 2: Instructional Issues and Challenges
Discussions will include members who can share specific classroom experiences.

March 12, 2003: Scholarship of Teaching and Learning

April 9, 2003: The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE): The SDSU Experience
 


Theme 3: Use of Technology in Higher Education
Discussions will include members who are experts in the fields and members who are users.

January 29, 2003: Classroom Technologies

February 26, 2003: Web Advisor, Wintegrate, and other Advising tools

March 26, 2003: Distance Education

April 23, 2003: Sharing Classroom Teaching Techniques in Cyber Space, Merlot
